Urdaneta Practice

We got an invitation to join the All-Women’s League, aka Maganda Tourney, by Tricia. It’s a 3-day tournament happening on March 6, 12, and 13 at the Philippine Navy football field. I’ll be in Boracay on March 12 to 15 so I can only play on March 6, if ever.

Anyway, as we were recruited by team Demonitas, Tricia encourage us to join them in their practice at Urdaneta Park from 7:30pm to 10pm. We went there last night. We don’t have a car so we walk down the village. No one’s out in the street except us and it’s kinda awkward walking.

As we got there, we can’t spot anyone we know from San Lorenzo. They all must be hard-core disc players. Intimidating. We saw Tricia, smiling ever, and she introduced us to Nikka, Karen and to other members of Demonitas. They were all young, petite, and pretty. As they’ve said they are known as *the Hobbits*. Well, can’t wait to see them play. They move fast and have zest for ultimate. They’re out-spoken and kind too.

It’s too dark then but we have to play and it’s hard to see the disc, so one of the girls requested for a disc with a light on it. It’s my first time to see something like that, meron palang ganun. We finished the drills and one game. Tricia reminded us to practice more since we can’t attend the next-day practice. It’s nice of her to lend me a disc. After that, we went our way out to the village.

Well, San Lorenzo has a bigger field. It’s a walking-distance from our work place. And homey. I’m not sure I’ll be comfortable playing at Urdaneta.
